going back over 5,000 years, and appears on several continents
(origin unknown), it is and was used extensively in Native American
medicine. The root is adaptogen, cardiotonic, demulcent, panacea,
sedative, sialagogue, stimulant, tonic and stomachic. Ginseng has

Maca
Known as Peruvian Ginseng, which supports the glandular system. This
herb serves two functions of sexual health: it enhances sexual
performance and desire, as well as improves endurance and energy.
Lepidium meyenii or maca is an herbaceous biennial plant or annual
plant (some sources say a perennial plant) native to the high Andes
of Bolivia and Peru. It is grown for its fleshy hypocotyl (actually
a fused hypocotyl and taproot), which is used as a root vegetable
and a medicinal herb. Its Spanish and Quechua names include
maca-maca, maino, ayak chichira, and ayak willku. Maca has been
harvested and used by humans in the Andean Mountains for centuries.
It was eaten by Inca warriors before battles, and was used a form of
payment of Spanish imperial taxes.
A double-blind study by the Department of Urology, University of
Ulsan College of Medicine attempted to study the "efficacy of Maca
for erectile dysfunction." Their conclusion was, "Our data shows
that red ginseng is an effective alternative for treating male
erectile dysfunction".
A key ingredient of Maca is ginsenoside, which alters blood flow to
the brain and penis and can build blood flow and sperm. Russian
scientists have reported that Ginseng stimulates both physical and
mental activity, enhances athletic performance and has a positive
effect on the sex glands.
Used to combat impotence and premature ejaculation, Maca also helps
normalize blood pressure while rejuvenating and revitalizing the
body.

Cordyceps sinensis
Cordyceps sinensis is a powerful tonic and can help restore
normal function of the body, stimulate immune response, increase
energy, vitality, and longevity. Recent research has shown that
Cordyceps sinensis can improve sport performance and muscle-building
capability. In TCM, Cordyceps sinensis has been used to help
regulate blood pressure, strengthen cardiovascular system, and
improving sexual energy and desire. Clinical tests performed at
Hunan Medical University have shown that Cordyceps sinensis is
effective in relaxing the smooth muscles tissue of the penis,
increasing blood flow, resulting in harder erections. A few animal
studies have shown Cordyceps sinensis feeding to increase the ratio
of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to inorganic phosphate (Pi) in the
liver by 45-55% - an effect that may be viewed as beneficial in
terms of energy state and potential for performance enhancement.
Furthermore, mice fed Cordyceps sinensis and subjected to an extreme
low oxygen environment, were able to utilize oxygen more efficiently
(30-50% increase), better tolerate acidosis and hypoxia (lack of
oxygen) and live 2-3 times longer than a control group. A number of
Chinese clinical studies, primarily in elderly patients with
fatigue, Cordyceps sinensis-treated patients reported significant
improvements in their level of fatigue, ability to tolerate cold
temperatures, memory and cognitive capacity and sex drive.
Cordyceps sinensis may help improve libido and quality of life in
men & women experiencing sexual frustration. In a double blind and
placebo-controlled study involving 200 men with reduced libido and
other sexual problems, Cordyceps sinensis significantly enhance
their sexual function. 64% of the Cordyceps sinensis-users reported
significant improvement in sexual function compared with 24% of the
placebo group. According to a double blind, placebo controlled study
published on Journal of Alternative & Complementary Medicine, 21
elderly women experiencing sexual frustration were given Cordyceps
sinensis supplementation. 90% reported improvements in libido and
sexual health following the use of Cordyceps sinensis, compared with
none in the control group. In another human clinical study involving
189 men and women with decreased libido and desire, 66% showed
improvement of symptoms and desire after Cordyceps sinensis.

Radix eurycoma longifolia
Eurycoma Longifolia (popularly known as Tongkat Ali in Malaysia
and Pasak Bumi in Indonesia) was relatively unknown in the world a
few years ago, but has recently overtaken Yohimbe as the undisputed
"King of Aphrodisiac Herbs" for its potent benefits... without the
dangerous side effects of Yohimbine or drugs!
Eurycoma longifolia Jack was investigated for sexual motivation
activity in adult, middle-aged male mice and in retired breeders.
Each mouse received 500 mg/kg of one of 4 fractions of Eurycoma
longifolia Jack, viz. chloroform, methanol, butanol, and water,
whereas the mice in the control and yohimbine groups received 3
ml/kg of normal saline and 30 mg/kg of yohimbine daily respectively
for 10 days. The results show a transient increase in the percentage
of male mice responding to the right choice after chronic
consumption of the fractions with 50 percent of the adult
middle-aged male mice treated with eurycoma longifolia and yohimbine
scoring the right choice after 8 and 5 days post-treatment
respectively. This study has shown that eurycoma longifolia
continues to enhance sexual motivation in adult, middle-aged male
mice and in retired breeders.
